I Didn’t Just Start a Business, Cinntography Started Me

When I first picked up a camera, I was chasing passion. I wanted to create, capture and tell stories that mattered. But somewhere along the way, Cinntography began shaping me more than I was shaping it. It became the mirror that revealed not only my creative eye but my resilience, my faith and my voice. I didn’t just start a business; I found myself in the process.

How It All Started

Before I ever held a professional camera, I was already seeing the world like a storyteller. I found beauty in everyday things; the way light fell through tree branches, how laughter lit up someone’s face, or how quiet moments carried meaning. My phone became my first lens and nature was my first muse. I wasn’t trying to impress anyone; I just wanted to hold on to the feeling certain moments gave me.

The turning point came when I received my first camera. That moment felt like the beginning of something sacred. It wasn’t just about better gear; it was about giving my vision a new voice. I didn’t know it then, but Cinntography was being born in those early clicks.

From Passion to Purpose

What began as passion started to evolve into purpose. Friends started asking for portraits. I found myself capturing birthdays, graduations, concerts, not just with a creative eye, but with deep intention. I wasn’t just snapping pretty pictures; I was preserving legacies.

That’s when the name Cinntography came to life. It was more than a business name; it was a declaration. A fusion of my name and my calling. It felt like I was finally stepping into alignment.

How Cinntography Shaped Me

Running a photography business has taught me more about myself than I could’ve imagined. I’ve learned how to show up even when I’m tired, how to keep going even when bookings were slow, and how to trust that my gift would make room for me.

Through every challenge, God has been a constant. Faith carried me through seasons of doubt, imposter syndrome and fear. I’ve prayed over shoots, trusted Him with clients and watched Him open doors I didn’t even knock on.

Lessons From the Lens

Cinntography has taught me:

• Resilience: Some of my best work came after hard days.

• Boundaries: Saying no is part of honoring my gift.

• Value: My work is worth the investment and so am I.

• Representation matters: As a female photographer, especially in male-dominated spaces, my presence is powerful.

• Growth is layered: There is no "arrival" moment, just deeper becoming.

What Cinntography Means to Me Now

Today, Cinntography is more than photos. It’s a movement of meaning, emotion and truth. It’s about helping others see themselves fully while I continue to discover more of myself.

I dream of expanding into storytelling workshops, creative mentorship and brand-building for women. I want Cinntography to be a safe space for people to be seen and for me to keep growing as a visual storyteller.

I didn’t just build a brand, I uncovered a bold, soft, faith-filled version of me.

And she’s still evolving….
