Passion with a Purpose: Why Your Calling Gets Attacked
Passion isn’t just passion. It’s purpose disguised as desire.
There’s something sacred about the things that make us feel most alive. The way we light up when we do that thing. Be it photography, teaching, singing, writing or building, it's not random. That inner pull? That urge to create, speak, lead, nurture, build, heal, it’s divine. It’s planted deep within us for a reason. But I’ve come to learn that the very things we’re most passionate about… are often the very things most attacked.
Why? Because your passion carries impact. And impact threatens darkness.
When Purpose Meets Resistance
Think about it:
If your purpose is to speak, teach or sing, you might find yourself constantly battling vocal issues, fear of speaking, or people trying to silence you.
If you're meant to bring healing to families, you may be born into a broken one that makes you question love and unity.
If your calling is to lead, you might be constantly dismissed, overlooked or made to feel like your voice doesn’t matter.
If you're meant to inspire faith, you may battle seasons of deep doubt, depression or spiritual isolation.
These aren't coincidences. They are spiritual warfare. They're distractions sent to derail, discourage, and delay you from stepping fully into what God has placed inside you.
The Enemy Has a Plan, Too
As much as the Lord has a plan for your life, so does the enemy.
We often quote Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you...," but we forget that Satan studies us too. He studies our gifts, our weaknesses, our wounds. He knows that if he can attack your passion, he can confuse your identity. And if you're confused about who you are, you'll never walk in the authority you were given.
But friend, that’s exactly why you must stay the course.
Fight for Your Flame
It’s not just about staying passionate, it’s about protecting your passion.
You might feel tired.
You might feel unseen.
You might be battling fear, resistance, silence, doubt.
But if the flame is still there, even just a spark, fan it.
Keep creating. Keep speaking. Keep writing. Keep showing up.
Because your passion is not just for you, it’s your assignment.
A Word of Encouragement
Don’t give up just because it’s hard. Hard doesn’t mean wrong.
Yes, the enemy has a plan. But he is not the author. He is not sovereign. He is not your source.
God is.
So even when the warfare feels heavy, even when you feel like no one sees or understands, trust that the Lord is working behind the scenes. Every opposition is proof that you carry weight. That what you carry matters.
Your passion is not random.
Your resistance is not punishment.
And your purpose will prevail.
